About Dr. Joanna Lipari
 An Adjunct Professor
of Psychology in the Graduate School of Pepperdine University,
Joanna Lipari, PsyD ["Dr. Jo"] specializes in existential theory and recently
published a paper, "An Existentially Based Treatment for Chronic Depression".
Dr. Jo is a member of the American Psychological Assoc. (APA), The CA Psychological Assoc.,
The LA County Psychological Assoc., and International Network on Personal Meaning (INPM).
Her varied clinical experience includes adolescents at Gateways Hospital; clinical
and research positions at the West LA Veterans Administration, and a specialization
in Geriatric Psychology at the Center for Healthy Aging in Santa Monica, California.
Dr. Lipari has published articles in both academic journals and the popular press,
such as PSYCHOLOGY TODAY and SELF MAGAZINE. She is the creator and host of the syndicated
radio show, THE PSYCH MINUTE WITH DR. JOANNA LIPARI and co-writer of the popular book,
THE ACTOR: A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO A PROFESSIONAL CAREER.
Her research includes an exploration of the cognitive thinking of adolescents that result
in academic success; "mid-life crisis"; and understanding.
